big issues with big knitting

Astonishingly, there seems to be some people out there with big issues about knitting to the point they went out to vandalise and destroy the knitted bridge in the middle of last night. It must of been a heart breaking sight this morning for all those involved in such a large project, after speaking to one of the organisers today I was told it would of been a team of people who went about sabotaging it last night. I mean, why?!!

That is ridiculously horrible! I don't understand people who destroy creative work. It's like they can't create something themselves, so they feel they must destroy someone else's. I would be devastated if my work was destroyed like that!

That is such a terrible thing they've done - all those hours and hours of work!

Honestly you have to wonder what is wrong with some people? How awful for all those involved with the knitting.

That stinks. Sadly, I can almost picture the type of people that would do this...I know where I'd like to stick my giant knitting needle.

I think a bit of darning might be called for
(really stupid bit of vandalism)

Oh what a horrible thing to do. It must be jealousy. I hope this isn't too heartbreaking that it discourages future work from happening.

For real?! Why? It looked like such a cool project. I'm obsessed with knitting but not to the extent of covering a whole bridge. That took some real dedication.

It isn't fair is it? To have so many wonderful and creative people gather and for a few morons to destroy their work. It would be wonderful if those responsible for the destruction of the installation were found and charged. Such stupidity.

Oh that is so bitterly, bitterly disappointing. It looked so incredible. So very sad.

How absolutely heartbreaking, that is hours/days/weeks of work. I would be in tears, then I would be right behind Betty Jo and helping her push that giant needle!

Yes why? Sometimes I just understand some people and it upsets me what some people are like, I just don't understand...

Oh that's so sad!! What is it about some people? Is it a fear of creating themselves that makes them so mean-spirited about the endeavours of others? Not nice. K

That's terrible! Must be so heart-breaking :(

P.S. This doesn't seem like the right time/post to say this, but I've just tagged you on my blog. Play along if you like :)

It's the stupidest thing. Why indeed? It's a sad thing when just to keep something intact for a short while you have to employ security overnight. Stupid, pathetic losers who did this. Someone must know who.

This kind of vandelism makes you wonder what kind of morals are parents NOT teaching their kids. It's hard to believe that someone would find this kind of stupidity funny. Too bad those idiots couldn't take that enery and use it towards a productive endeavor. I feel bad for the artists that were involved in setting up the display. It must have been terrible for them.

I just find this so sad. The festival was aimed at bringing inspiration and vitality to Footscray. Why somebody felt the need to ruin it for the rest of us is beyond me. Pathetic.
